Even on a stylist’s day off, she – that would be me – is still thinking about your hair! Welcome to my Mane-ly Monday, a time and space for collective observations and opinions on all things hair: the trends, techniques, treatments, tools, environment and more. As I reflect and recharge, I want to say publicly, Thank U Prince! Like many of you, the untimely transition of this musical genius hit me like a ton of bricks. His music could have been the soundtrack for so many of our lives, and his influence on the hair and fashion industries gave me inspiration. He even made what would become the KS Satin StyleGuard look sexy. For as much as Prince changed his hair, it was always a reminder of the freedom we enjoy to express ourselves.
